What is a “PEP Talk”?

PEP means Prioritizing Epic Problems. The format is built for communities that agree on many problems but disagree on solutions. Instead of fighting over solutions first, participants identify and order shared problems.

Dedicated speaking windows are enforced. “Shout-down” behavior is not tolerated.

How to Turn Arguments into Collaborations

Many disputes are definition mismatches, not true disagreement about outcomes.

Some understanding comes through shared experience, not monologue.

Do not speak for more than one minute before rotating voices.

Do not stack too many thoughts in one turn; clarity drops quickly.

Replace “you should” language with examples from your own lived experience.

We default to spotting problems; choose to identify overlap and shared values.
